It has come to my attention that there is a new controversial website on the internet. Without naming names, the premise of this adult dating site is paying for your dream date. You can either sign up as a “generous” meaning you name a price you’re willing to pay to go on a date with a member on the site, or you can sign up as an “attractive” where you basically name a price you need to be paid to be taken out on a date. The site has caught the attention of Forbes, Time, Playboy, NBC News, and ABC News, just to name a few media outlets.
The site explains that many other adult sex dating sites out there provide unfortunate outlets where attractive members become overwhelmed with messages while singles with high standards are often ignored and rejected. Their “dream” solution is this new controversial site were a simple price for a date is named and a simple “yes” or “no” answer seals the deal. It’s as simple as that.
My problem with this site, as well as many others, is that it is borderline prostitution. The patent is pending for the website, but is it really legal to publicly explain that you’re willing to pay $200 to date a woman you don’t know but have seen a few pictures of on the internet. Same goes for the “attractive” members. Isn’t it a little prostitute-eqsue to say that you won’t date any member who contact you unless they are willing to pay a certain price, say $500? Essentially these people are paying for the hope of sex. Why waste your time on a ridiculous site like this when there are thousands of free adult personals available online?
Also, this controversial site give the option of having a “first date” with a celebrity. If you scroll down the page a bit more there is a link asking any celebrities if they would be willing to participate in this. There is a brief mention of the money going to charity- of course. What celebrity would actually sign up for this? I’m thinking “first date” with a porn star sounds about right.
